Elemental concentrations
With neutron activation analysis, many trace elements can be determined, with atomic numbers of oxygen and up. Facilities are available for samples of a few mg up to 30 kg. With neutron depth profiling, elemental concentration profiles of a few elements can be determined in layers of tens of micrometers thickness.
