FameLab Delft - Want an overdose of science?

Who is best at presenting his or her science story? On Wednesday 3 April, 16 researchers will battle with each other for a place in the Dutch finals of the international FameLab competition. Join them and get to know all about all sorts of biomedical applications, seeing the invisible, disasters getting worse, and water on the moons of Jupiter. The presentations will be judged by a jury and by you!

FameLab

FameLab is an international competition, so all presentations will be in English. The best speakers will go to the Dutch finals in Utrecht, to get a shot at the international finals in England.

About FameLab

FameLab aims to discover charismatic, up-and-coming scientists who inspire people to see the world from a new perspective… in just three minutes! Since its birth at the Cheltenham Science Festival in 2005, FameLab has grown into arguably the world’s leading science communication competition. A partnership with the British Council (since 2007) made FameLab expand to 31 different countries. With more than 9000 young scientists and engineers participating so far.

FameLab started in the Netherlands in 2014 and already boasts an amazing network of 50+ science communicators, all skilled and committed to sharing their work and knowledge with public audiences nationally and internationally.

Those participating in the Delft heat of FameLab receive a very special and exciting presentation training before the event, organized by Martijn Wackers, presentation coach at TU Delft ITAV, and TU Delft Library communication manager and performance poet Najiba Abdellaoui (winner of the 2008 NK Poetry Slam).

The winner of the Delft FameLab heat will participate in the national FameLab finals in Utrecht on May 9th, and could become the new Dutch face of science, who will represent the Netherlands at the FameLab International finals in the UK!
