Profile

Biography

Omar is a PhD candidate at the Faculty of Technology, Policy and Management. He obtained his bachelor's degree at this faculty before continuing on at this faculty for his master's degree in Engineering and Policy Analysis. His master thesis analyzed how large datasets of maps generated by land-use change models form clusters of similar maps based on the distance metric used to compare these maps. This was part of a larger project that used Scenario Discovery in tandem with Land-Use Change Models in favor of traditional scenario analysis approaches used in the land-use change domain.

Research

His research aims to improve distributed simulations by applying a component based approach. This will allow for scalable simulations that are evolvable in favor of large monolithic simulations. This research is a collaboration between the TU Delft Faculty of Technology, Policy and Management and the TNO Research Group Modeling, Simulation and Gaming.
