First PVE PhD colloquium on December 10

On 10 December, from 13:30 till 15:30, the first PVE PhD colloquium will be held. In this colloquium, PhD candidates Lisanne, Adrienne and Jose Ignacio will present and discuss some of their results. In their studies they used PVE as a research method, or they looked at how PVE as a research method can be applied.

The effectiveness of lifting corona measures strongly depends on the behaviour of Dutch citizens. This in turn depends on the extent to which the Dutch consider the measures taken by the government to be necessary, fair and compatible with their everyday lives. Researchers of TBM at TU Delft and the RIVM joined forces to find out how the Dutch population felt about lifting corona measures in a so-called participatory value evaluation (PVE).

Sem Nouws, student of the master Complex Systems Engineering and Management, studied different information provision approaches in a PVE on urban climate adaptation for his master thesis project. He observed that participants’ wants and needs regarding information are very divergent.
