Ans print & scan

From 8 January 2024, the Ans Print & Scan process will be available for all lecturers. The ESA building will replace the IDE Logistics Point as a distribution point.

Ans print & scan allows you to create your exam digitally in Ans, have it printed and scanned, review the exam online with your teaching team, and have students review their graded work online. This page describes the process, the costs, the deadlines, and the timeline, as well as the step-by-step manual. 

Ans print & scan via Exam Services portal (Canon)

Introduction

The print & scan process is available for all lecturers since January 2024. You can either print and scan exams yourself  through the button 'Print' (on TU Delft printers) or you can use the print and scan services available through the Canon Exam Service portal. Then click on the button 'Exam Services' 

Please be aware that the deadline for submitting your exam through Canon Exam Services is 3 working days before your exam day. The standard delivery of your printed exam is 2 working days before your exam day. Please review the rest of the information on the page, including the costs involved

Step 1: In Ans – Create and prepare your print & scan exam

In Ans, paper-based exams are called ‘written assignments'.

Step 2: Canon Exam Services portal – Add your exam together with general information of your print & scan exam

In this part you:

  • Add your exam to the Exam Services portal.
  • Add the general information of your print & scan exam.
  • Select the delivery location.

Step 3: Print your exam to the Exam Services portal

Step 4: In Exam Services portal – Add the print production information to the Exam Services portal

In the Canon Exam Services portal, you specify the print order for your exam. You can also add any other pdf or zip files that need to be included in your print order. 

Step 5: Pick up the printed exams at the Distribution Point

You can track the processing of your exam via the ‘Audit’ button on the Exam Services portal.

Your exam is delivered to the distribution point in a plastic box. Each box is sealed with colored seals. One of the seals contains a unique serial number to ensure that the box was unopened during until that moment. You can check the seal number against the (handwritten) seal number on the inside of the box.
