Publication culture

In 2022, 98% of our journal articles and 91% of our conference papers were available open access, but there is still room for innovation and improvement. Louise Otting draws attention to a range of challenges embedded in the open publishing system, from costs to the way researchers are meant to operate. Alongside colleagues from the Publication and Collection Taskforce, and the TU Delft Library, she found that there should be more focus on improvement in fostering genuine inclusiveness in scholarly communication. TU Delft wants to be part of the change, so we are opening up the discussion about Open Publishing at our university and all of its faculties. What are the next steps to chart the current publication culture? And how can we discuss these further?
