27 January 2022 18:30 till 20:00 - Location: Online - By: Communication BK
This lecture presents the work of Gigon/Guyer in retrospect, and exemplary student work in prospect. Gigon/Guyer attracted international attention with their very first building, the Kirchner Museum in Davos. Numerous other museum projects followed, including the extension to the Kunstmuseum in Winterthur, Museum Liner in Appenzell, the archaeological museum and park in Kalkriese near Osnabrueck, Donation Albers-Honegger in Mouans-Sartoux, and two new buildings for the Swiss Museum of Transport in Lucerne. Since 2012, Annette Gigon and Mike Guyer have been Professors of Architecture and Construction at the ETH Zürich.
The Berlage Keynotes is an ongoing lecture series featuring internationally prominent architects, designers, and thinkers who are at the forefront of design discourse and innovation. A selection of speakers working from different disciplinary perspectives and in different geographic, cultural, and political contexts present how their work engages with contemporary issues and debates. This fall semester, speakers include MONADNOCK, Formafantasma, Lowie Vermeersch, GROSS.MAX., Matilde Cassani, HArquitectes, Kayoko Ota, and Annette Gigon.
