Projects
My project is part of the Flagship "Convergence in a dish: Individualized CELLular models of disease diversity in the population". The aim of this flagship is to build a "village in a dish", where we can co-culture cells from multiple individuals in controllable environments to study diseases. In my project, I will focus on the mechano-biological interplay between cells and their extracellular environment and how this can lead to tissue fibrosis. I will develop in vitro cell culture models where we can control the environment (e.g. by using micropatterning), so that we can disentangle environmental and genetic factors in fibrosis.
