Profile

Dr. Jieun Yang is an assistant professor in the Mechatronic System Design (MSD) section at the Department of Precision and Microsystems Engineering (PME) at the Delft University of Technology (TU Delft). Her research focuses on developing metamaterials for the control of sound and vibration. More information can be found in her personal website.

My research centers on advancing metamaterials to control acoustic waves, with a primary focus on mitigating noise and vibration within mechatronic systems. Building on my previous works on designing and analyzing metamaterials for noise reduction, I aim to strengthen and expand this research area in the coming years. The overarching objective is to develop metamaterials tailored for noise reduction through acoustic absorption or insulation, while simultaneously addressing noise-induced vibrations. However, in general, I am interested in a broader scope of any research related to acoustics and vibration.
