Fill in the Teaching Cultures Survey before 24 May

How does our academic community view teaching and learning at TU Delft? Is education important in Delft? Is being a good lecturer rewarding? This is the subject of the Teaching Cultures Survey. Are you involved of have you been involved in teaching? Then you have been invited to fill in the survey. Haven’t filled it in yet? You can still do so until 24 May via this link. It takes about six minutes to complete and is completely anonymous and confidential.

Results

TU Delft will use the results of the survey as important input to consider and design improvements concerning our teaching culture. In particular, we are interested in learning more about your teaching experiences at TU Delft: the way teaching in Delft is recognized and rewarded and your view on education as a career track. There are plans to organise a presentation about the survey findings later this year. Ruth Graham, the researcher, will come to Delft for this. Keep an eye on this newsletter for updates.

More about the research

This research enables us to compare the views of our academic community with those of academic staff at other leading universities. It is part of a longitudinal research project that aims to monitor changes in the teaching cultures in academia worldwide.  The first survey was held in 2019, in which 21 universities from across the world participated. The survey is now being repeated in 2022. The aim is to hold the final survey in 2024/2025. The study is conducted by dr. Ruth Graham and her team. Dr. Graham is a global leader in teaching excellence who developed the teaching framework that helps academia to evaluate the value, impact, and success of teaching staff.
