General information about MSc programmes of TU Delft (Overview TU Delft’s MSc programmes, Studying at TU Delft, Admission Requirements, etc.) can be found at the TU Delft website. However, locating the right page is sometimes a challenge. Therefore the following help:

Information about the course structure of the MSc track Hydraulic Engineering (one of the tracks of the MSc Civil Engineering) can be found in the <link file:31133 _blank>Study Guide Track MSc Hydraulic Engineering (of the MSc Civil Engineering of TU Delft). More general  info on the MSc-programme you find here.

Being a low country, most of Hydraulic Engineering is coast related. However, within this master, we have some 7 specializations (although because of administrative reasons Rivers, Dredging and Port & Waterways is clustered into one). Some more details of the different programs you find at the section pages of the website of the department. Select the section of your interest and within the section select courses. You find there also the link to our “study guide”.

In this study guide, first switch to English, then select Civil Engineering as “organization” . Then click on “program”, select Education type=Master and Education=Master Civiele Techniek. Wait a few seconds and you get a menu. Open CIE-HE. Behind “compulsory” you will find all compulsory courses for the specialization, and behind “specialization coastal” you find the specific courses for Coastal engineering for example. In the same way you can find courses for the other specializations.

Basically our Master is a 2 year program. In the first year it is mainly a course programme. In the second year it consists of two blocks of 10 European Credits + a graduation work of 40 credits. The graduation work is an individual piece of work (either research or design) and is defined in close cooperation with the student.  An overview of recent work done by students you find via our repository. Go to http://repository.tudelft.nl,  select  “educational” and type in the search box department: hydraulic year: 2016   and you will get a list of all MSc reports of our department from 2016. You may limit this to "master thesis” in the menu on the left. Adding programme=coastal in the search box gives only the thesis on coastal morphology and coastal structures.
