News - 16 July 2018

Delft Aerospace Rocket Engineering (DARE) has rescheduled the launch of the Stratos III rocket to July 24th.

The goal is to break the European student altitude record which is currently set at 32.3 km. The team developed the biggest rocket ever made by DARE and is preparing for their launch in the south of Spain. The launch site is owned by the Spanish space agency Instituto Nacional de Técnica Aeroespacial (INTA).

The team will live stream the entire launch. Preparations begin at 3:00 on July 24th and the scheduled launch time is 8:00. You can follow all of the preparation, launch procedures and the launch itself on their Facebook and YouTube pages.

The launch is weather dependent, so if conditions aren’t suitable, the team will delay the launch to another date. You can follow their progress on their website.
