Marco Vergassola

Marco Vergassola is a PhD Candidate at the Offshore Engineering Department of Delft University of Technology since February 2019. His research focuses on the dynamics of full-height lattice support structures for next-generation offshore wind turbines.

In 2012 Marco started his bachelor in Mechanical Engineering at the University of study of Genoa, in Italy. In 2016 he graduated as Mechanical Engineer on the experimental analysis of a Tesla-type micro-turbine. In the same year, he moved to the Netherlands to start his master in Sustainable Energy Technology at the TU Delft. Within his master, Marco specialized in wind energy and, in 2018, he graduated on the modelling and validation of a three-dimensional nonlinear numerical wave tank for fluid-structure interaction analysis in the context of floating wind support structures.
