In today’s healthcare education there is a shortage of time and material to provide students with sufficient opportunities for the practical part of anatomy education. A solution to this problem could be a digital model of the human body with enough detail for students to practice and learn from. Enatom is a company that works on creating a web-based 3D anatomical preparation model of the real human that can be used by medical students to support them in exploring the anatomy of the body on a digital platform that can be accessed from any location, at anytime. The model is created using photogrammetry and is thus based on a dense pointcloud. Utilizing a pointcloud for this specific purpose brings challenges with it that this synthesis project aims to provide solutions for. These challenges include the classification of the pointcloud, the sensitivity of the data, and the empty spaces between the points in the pointcloud, among others.
