During normal operation, the AC voltage is linearly distributed through the entire transformer winding. During lighting over-voltage (1.2/50 µs) there is a non-linear voltage response distribution in the winding and that could result in severe electric stress. For this reason, different kinds of windings are used. One of them is k wound-in shield wires. The main conclusion of this work is to model full-scale winding with k wound in shield pairs that can be built in COMSOL in the frequency domain and then these results can then transferred to the time domain. To see how voltage is distributed along the discs and the winding
