Design of an 11kW DC-DC Electric Vehicle charger based on a resonant power converter. Solutions to achieve a wide output voltage range of 150-1000V are studied, and a two-stage solution is proposed. Additionally, the competitiveness of IGBTs is compared to MOSFETs in this solution. A prototype is designed and tested in the lab, where a maximum efficiency of 97.66% is reached and 95+% efficiency over the entire output voltage range at full power is achieved.
