This master's thesis focuses on the design and analysis of the inverter stage and controller architecture for a modular solid-state transformer (SST) linking DC microgrids to a 10kV AC grid. Inverter topologies and modulation techniques are investigated for efficiency, power quality, and scalability. A modular controller architecture is devised to ensure seamless data flow and synchronization among controllers for efficient converter and AC grid coordination. Simulations and experiments confirm the success of the proposed designs, achieving high efficiency and minimal harmonic distortion. This research contributes to advancing solid-state transformer technology and offers insights for future development in grid-connected applications.
