Inauguration prof.dr. P.J. Vardon (CEG)

’Energy Geomechanics: Thermal power for change’

19 April 2024 15:00 - Location: Aula, TU Delft | Add to my calendar

The subsurface will play a key role in the energy transition. Especially providing heating, cooling and energy storage.
Geothermal energy can be a reliable, efficient and affordable alternative to heat our houses. But the subsurface is highly variable and hard to measure at depth. To understand the system better and design more efficient energy systems, Phil is working on large scale experiments, such as the geothermal project on campus. Because the energy transition is urgent, he pleas for a strong collaboration between the university, industry and companies.
