Abstract:

The proliferation of networking devices and the rapid development of communication technologies make the Internet more demanding. An explosion in content usage is nowadays characterizing the long journey of the Internet. Furthermore, the popularity of social media sites and the seeking of information through such sites make data retrieval more voluminous. These new demands led to an entirely new design of the networking paradigms, e.g., Information-Centric Networking (ICN), or reassessment of the current infrastructure, e.g., Software-Defined Networking (SDN). In today's talk, we will go through the recent advancements concerning the security and privacy aspects of these current and new networking paradigms while emphasizing the possible coexistence between the present and future.
