The exhibition 'When Images Remain' questions the context in which the role of art in education (has) developed within TU, and the role of art in (technical) education of tomorrow.
The use of images in education and literature is mostly for clarification purposes, accompanying text descriptions. When images appear without description it becomes difficult to interpret their meaning or context. At the TU Delft we have a collection of images from the 1900’s that is an undescribed record of perspectives. How can we learn from these images today and into the future? And how can we highlight the importance of images in knowledge transfer and in transferring scientific and social skills?
