"Can Aviation Get Off Kerosene?"
The talk will outline the climate impact of aviation, some possible alternatives energy carriers for aviation and their associated challenges. The talk will also highlight some of the research currently done in the group.

Prof. Gangoli Rao is the Chair of Sustainable Aircraft Propulsion at the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering and is also involved in one of the flagship projects of the Climate Action programs. He has been working in the area of sustainable aircraft propulsion for more than 15 years and has led several EU and national projects on the same topic.

"How to address aviation's climate problem with large open data"
Assessing and mitigating air transport's climate impact are challenging. In this talk, you will get to learn about the cool datasets and tools, which are developed by Junzi and his team to address aviation’s climate footprint. Some of these initiatives have been supported by the climate action seed fund.

Junzi is from the faculty of aerospace engineering. His research aims at making air transport operations more climate efficient.  Junzi has a special expertise in building research collaborations through open-source projects. He is also the co-creator and editor-in-chief for the Journal of Open Aviation Science.
Junzi Sun who was a Seed Fund winner in 2022 with his project “MOCHA - Multidisciplinary Open Collaborations on High Altitude Contrail Detection with Aviation and Satellite Data Fusion”.

► After the lectures there is room for discussion and interaction.
