Mandatory matching

The bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is an enjoyable and challenging study, but it does not always correspond to what prospective students expect. The bachelor's programme in Electrical Engineering therefore considers it important that before you start your study you experience what it is like to study Electrical Engineering, so that you can determine whether this programme suits you. For this reason, Mandatory Matching is applicable for all students who want to start the programme in September 2024.

The Mandatory Matching is mandatory for all new students. When you don’t fully complete the Mandatory Matching, your enrolment will be withdrawn.

Language

The official language of the programme is Dutch. All communication and also the official language of the mandatory matching will therefore also be in Dutch.

What does the Mandatory Matching consist of?

The most important part of the Mandatory Matching is the Matching Day. On that day you will have the opportunity to experience (online) what it is like to study Electrical Engineering. You will get examples of lectures, seminars and assignments. There will also be an opportunity to get acquainted with the programme, teachers and future fellow students in a relaxed atmosphere.

The Matching days for students, who want to start their bachelor’s programme of Electrical Engineering in September 2024, will take place on:

  • Wednesday 7 February 2024 (on campus)
  • Wednesday 29 May 2024 (on campus)
  • Thursday 13 June 2024 (online)

In preparation for the Matching day, you also need to do some assignments at home, such as filling in a questionnaire. There is also mandatory homework after the Matching day. If you enrol in the bachelor Electrical Engineering via Studielink you will receive more information regarding the Mandatory Matching by email. The first information email will be sent mid-December.

Based on the results of the Matching procedure, the programme will give you an advice on how well the bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering suits you. This advice is not binding. It is up to you to decide whether or not you want to follow it or not.
