Profile

Anastasia (Natasa) Roukouni is a postdoc researcher at the Smart PT Lab, Department of Transport & Planning of the Faculty of Civil Engineering & Geosciences, TU Delft and a Research Fellow of the Amsterdam Institute for Advanced Metropolitan Solutions (AMS).

Natasa is a dipl. Surveying Engineer (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece - AUTh) with an MSc in Transport from Imperial College London and UCL. She holds a PhD in Transport Economics from AUTh, funded by a Siemens Fellowship of Excellence. She has worked as a postdoc researcher on a wide spectrum of topics in both passenger and freight transport, in several EU and national Greek and Dutch projects. In 2017 she came to The Netherlands and since then she has worked on several projects at TU Delft (TPM and CiTG Faculties) and Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University.

Natasa’s research interests include: Urban sustainable mobility, Multi-criteria Decision Analysis, Land use- transport interaction, Shared mobility, Innovation in transport and logistics under a multi – actor systems perspective, Innovative financing mechanisms for transportation infrastructure (e.g. Value capture), Urban mobility hubs, Development of Serious Games and learning materials (e.g. teaching cases) on transport topics, Application of Geographical Information Systems on transport topics.

Her current research focuses on the concept of “low-car” city and it aims at providing answers to the key questions “what, who, why” in terms of residents’ acceptance of the concept. Using Amsterdam as a case study, she investigates which measures/policies have the highest acceptance rates amongst different population groups and attempts to identify the existing barriers in cases where acceptance rates are low.
