Expertise
Baris has strong expertise on synthetic polymer and colloid chemistry as well as photochemistry. His current research activities involve sustainable polymer materials for aviation. He focusses on the design of functional monomers. Furthermore, he develops polymers for secondary applications. He has special interest for organic photocatalyst design for photocatalytic and energetic reactions. He is author of more than 36 publications which 14 of them as corresponding author and he published 2 book chapters.
Biography
Baris completed his Bachelor and Master degrees in chemistry at Istanbul Technical University (Turkey) which he focused on formation of functional polymers. Following that, he started his PhD at Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces (Potsdam-Germany) where he obtained his PhD degree in polymer chemistry in 2019. He then became a group leader in the Department of Colloid Chemistry at the same institute. Since April 2022 he is a tenure-track assistant professor at Aerospace Manufacturing Technologies group in the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering - TU Delft.
