Profile

Expertise

4D Printing, BioMechanics, Smart Materials, Tissue Engineering, Computational Solid Mechanics.

Biography

Ebrahim received his BSc. in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing and Production in 2016 from the Amirkabir University of Technology (AUT) with the first rank and MSc. in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mechanics in 2019 at University of Tehran (UT). He jointed Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) in October 2020 as a PhD candidate at the faculty of Mechanical, Maritime and Materials Engineering (3mE), department of BioMechanical Engineering (BME), in the research group of Biomaterials & Tissue Biomechanics. Previously, during his BSc and MSc, he worked on the smart materials (e.g., shape memory polymers and (electro-) magnetorheological elastomers), 4D printing and computational solid mechanics. Currently, his research is focused on the development of novel nanostructured bio-mimetic meta-implants for bone tissue replacement in collaboration between the department of BME and the Department of Precision and Microsystems Engineering (PME). During his PhD program, he will work on the design, fabrication, characterization, computational modeling and cell culture of polymeric 3D scaffolds by combining advanced mechanical engineering designs and light-assisted 3D micro-manufacturing.
