Biography

Juanita Devis is a Urban living lab developer at the AMS Institute.

She is passionate about cities and architecture, and her interest is to investigate how technology and urban data can provide insights to address mobility, urban, environmental and societal challenges.

Her background combines her domain knowledge in urban planning and architecture with working experience in smart cities, mobility, and technology (data, visualizations and simulations, sensors, models, applications).

She was previously a Researcher in Urban Design at imec-SMIT-VUB. She was involved, among others, in the H2020 INDIMO and H2020 URBANAGE projects. The INDIMO project investigates how to develop more inclusive digital mobility solutions. The URBANAGE project investigates how to develop age-friendly Digital Twin solutions to enable civil servants in making better data-driven decision making. She was also involved in the CityFlows and the TOKEN projects.

Until 2018 she was a CityScience Advisor for the City Science Group, at the MIT Media Lab, in the context of the "Andorra Living Lab" initiative, coordinating projects in urban simulation, cultural heritage, and education.

In 2014, she received the Master in Architecture at Politecnico di Milano, Italy.
