Tugba is from Antalya, Turkey, and graduated from Hacettepe University with a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Civil Engineering. In her master's thesis, she focused on the use of deep learning algorithms to detect road defects using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). She worked as a research assistant at Gazi University for 3 years. She is now a PhD student at the Department of Water Management at Delft University of Technology. Her research focuses on the development of novel methods for automatic detection and quantification of defects in urban drainage infrastructures using the latest developments in Deep Learning.
