Profile

Dr. ir. Marcela Tuler de Oliveira is an Assistant Professor in Trustworthy Data Systems at TU Delft's Department of Engineering Systems & Services as part of the ICT section. She is a Telecommunications Engineer and a thought leader in digital solutions for cross-organizational data sharing.

She is involved in exploring the potential of Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) to establish secure data sharing, data access control, traceability, and accountability, optimizing the balance between security, scalability, and performance. Developing optimized solutions for various sectors, such as healthcare, aviation, finance, and smart cities, enhances data-driven decision-making while preserving privacy and security.  

Dr. ir. Tuler de Oliveira is a task leader of the H2022 EU ExtremeXP project 2023-26, working on the context-aware access control and data management of the ExtremeXP platform as well as the trustworthiness, non-repudiation, and traceability of the experiment-driven analytics with a focus on the use of DLT and Non-Fungible Token (NFT)-based dataset provenance mechanism. She is also SAE-G34 Artificial Intelligence in Aviation committee member, extending her research impact to real-world applications. 

Besides her research, she is an educator, teaching the I&C Risk and Control course as part of the Bachelor of Technische Bestuurskunde of the Faculty of Technology, Policy, and Management. She is also a supervisor of Bachelor, Masters, and Ph.D. students.
