Biografie
Ashika Maharaj is a researcher in Health and Policy at the Faculty of Technology, Policy and Management of Delft University of Technology. She graduated with a Bachelor in Pharmacy in New Zealand (NZ), worked within governance and safety in a large metropolitan hospital setting, and was as an advisor to the Health Quality and Safety Commission NZ (department within the Ministry of Health). Ashika was conferred her PhD (Oct 2020) by the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences, Monash University, Australia. Her thesis was titled "Quantifying Quality of Care in Pancreatic Cancer" and she is in an affiliate position with Monash University.

Research Interest and Expertise
Ashika's research interest includes understanding how to measure health systems performance and quality by using evidence- and consensus-based methods. She has a background in developing clinical quality registries and evaluating the large amount of clinical data collected prospectively to identify, understand and reduce unwarranted clinical variation.
She is an expert in the modified Delphi consensus method for indicator development, quantitative methods that include biostatistical analysis, evidence synthesis / systematic reviews & meta-analysis using the PICO framework; qualitative interviews using the theoretical domains framework and; surveys and questionnaire based data collection/studies.
