Join the Energy Challenge to contribute to energy transition

Since January 14, TU Delft has been celebrating its 180th anniversary with the theme 'Speeding up the energy transition'. The energy transition is an important weapon in the fight against climate change and with around 1,000 researchers in the field of energy, TU Delft is well equipped to help accelerate this transition. We are keen to get our students involved too, not only because of their fresh perspective and creativity, but also because ultimately this issue will affect everyone's lives, professionally and personally. The Energy Challenge can help us train engineers who are ready to face the future.

Energy Challenge in Q3 and Q4 education

In each course, it was examined how the theme of energy transition could be integrated in the second semester of education, in the form of projects or assignments. In the coming weeks we will showcase these examples.

But the energy transition is not limited to the courses you are giving; it is something the entire TU Delft community is working on. That's why there is also a whole range of side events, such as lectures, company visits, competitions etc. You can't help but get involved; students and staff will learn more about the energy transition and they can contribute right away.

9 June: Energy Challenge Event

Thursday 9 June is the big day: during the Energy Challenge Event, students will take over the campus and the focus will be on the energy transition. On this day students will show what contribution they have made to accelerating the energy transition. Mark this day in your calendar. More information on the programme will follow soon.

Inspire others

To help inspire academic staff and students throughout TU Delft with the Energy Challenge, Annet Zorge (Energy Challenge project lead) is looking for courses that are already discussing and engaging with the lustrum’s theme. She would like to show these projects to the rest of the university, in one way or another. If you think your course fits this bill, please reach out to her (A.Zorge@tudelft.nl).
