Education

Jeroen is involved in teaching a wide range of topics within the field of hydraulic engineering, covering both coastal engineering and flood risk issues. At present he is a (co-)lecturer and coordinator of two graduate courses:

  • CIE5314 “Flood defences” (reliability-based design, flood risk analysis, levee design, Dutch framework for flood risk and levee safety)
  • CIE5308 “Breakwaters and closure dams” (closure of tidal gaps, rubble mound breakwater design, monolithic breakwater design, derivation of boundary conditions, constructability.

Jeroen is also the supervisor of several MSc thesis students, and joint course leader for the PAO course “new developments for coastal structures”.
