Research & Projects

Jeroen’s principal research interest is in the field of computational fluid dynamics, focusing in particular on models that can be used to study the interaction of breaking waves with “rubble mound” structures (such as RANS-VOF models or similar). His ongoing PhD research investigates how these models can be used to improve the fundamental understanding of rubble mound stability issues, and how they can be put to practical use as a tool in the design of these structures.

Jeroen’s other research interests include ecological design aspects of “hard” structures and (artificial) reefs,  stability of bed protections, and physical modelling techniques.
