There are a lot of talented people in many fields on the campus of the TU Delft, including Sports. Every month, we put one of our elite athletes in the spotlight. This month, the honour goes to rower Ralf Rienks. [Picture: Ellen de Monchy]

Ralf is currently preparing for a number of important international rowing tournaments. Over the past few months he has been performing very well with his brother in the 2-.  As a result of these achievements they have both been selected to take place in the 4-.

Guess what? They qualified for the World Rowing Under 23 Championships in Bulgaria from 19 to 23 July! Until then, the team will also participate in the World Rowing Cup III in Lucerne, Switzerland. "I am very curious how it will be to row against the world class rowers", said Ralf.

Due to the full focus on rowing the upcoming period, he chose to skip one of his two study courses. The course has many mandatory practical’s and deadlines, which makes it difficult to combine sports and study. After the summer he will get back to focusing on his study Clinical Technology again.

We wish Ralf good luck with his rowing adventures this summer!
