Redesign of the Outdoor Area Nearly Finished

Despite the fact that X has been closed to visitors, the redesign of the outdoor area has been in progress for the past two months.  And that is starting to show!

Most evident is the re-paving of the square at the front- and backside, which creates a spacious effect. The large wooden benches that have been placed give you an excuse to lounge around in the sun at X a little bit longer and also serve as a meeting place. Additionally, the covered bicycle parking underneath the culture building has been emptied out and reorganized into a double-storied parking, creating 524 parking spaces. Aside from that, the area on the BalPol-side has been thoroughly renovated, resulting in a doubling of the Campus Farm surface. That will hopefully soon make gardening even more fun!

The finishing touch
In the upcoming few weeks until the end of June, the final phase is taking place. The path near the tennis courts will be renovated and there are also some completed renovations on and surrounding the front square. Over 500 bicycle racks will be reinstalled according to a new layout. Additionally, we are installing street furniture like new LED lighting, bins, and benches.
