GreenTU awards the fourth edition of Sustainability Label to study, sports, cultural and student associations in Delft

News - 05 March 2024

On Wednesday 20 March 2024 the green student board of TU Delft, GreenTU, awards the 'Sustainability Label' to different associations. The Sustainability Label is a benchmark for the theme of Sustainability for study, sports and cultural associations at TU Delft. With the Label, GreenTU recognizes and thanks the commitment and impact for climate action of the associations.

TU Delft's ambition is to be carbon neutral, climate-adaptive and circular by 2030, with a focus on biodiversity and quality of life. Students at TU Delft contribute to this goal through small and large initiatives to make a positive impact on the climate.

The Sustainability Label

Every study, sports, cultural and student association can participate in the Sustainability Label. To do so, they must complete a sustainability survey and send it to GreenTU. Based on the scoring in the survey, the extent to which the association operates sustainably will be known. A gold, silver or bronze label follows. The questionnaire is assessed by the label committee, consisting of three number of students from different faculties.

The ceremony

On Wednesday 20 March, GreenTU festively presented the Sustainability Labels to 19 associations at TU Delft in the Co-Creation Centre at The Green Village from 16:00 to 18:00. After entering, Puck Wijnia, Sustainability Project Leader, presented the developments of the sustainable TU Delft Campus. This was followed by best practices and inspiration on how associations can easily become more sustainable by Lars from GreenTU. Then the label presentation started.
