10 years Graduate School – lustrum event

2022 marks the 10-year anniversary of the TU Delft Graduate School: a time to reflect and to celebrate its success, but also a time to look towards the future.

To celebrate this milestone together with the TU Delft community, we organise the TU Delft Graduate School Lustrum Event on Wednesday 7 December.

In 10 years’ time, the active PhD community grew from 2,000 to over 3,000 PhD candidates, with an average of 400 PhD candidates successfully defending their dissertation annually. Former PhD candidates have found valuable positions worldwide in academia, ministries and local governments, research organizations, and in industry. However, in the last 10 years, society has changed, technology has changed, the job-market has changed. What does a doctoral degree mean to today’s society?  Does a doctorate add value to careers outside academia? What is the role of the graduate school in the coming years? Reflections we would like to explore together at the lustrum event.
