We are proud to announce that our Medical Technology (MedTech) portfolio of online courses and programs has won the prestigious QS Reimagining Education Award, often dubbed the Oscars of education.

Making sustainable healthcare a reality

“I am delighted that our portfolio is recognised and appreciated by such a large group of experts from all over the world” said Tim Horeman, Academic Portfolio Director, on hearing the good news. “Our extremely motivated lecturers and Extension School teams work hard together to provide the best online learning experience to thousands of leaners every day and I look forward to adding more courses to the portfolio to increase the reach and impact we can collectively have on making sustainable healthcare a reality for everyone”.

“Winning this ‘Lifelong Learning Award’ with our online courses gives us encouragement to continue and create new ones”, comments lecturer Bart van Straten. “It means that we are able to make an impact by sharing our knowledge and expertise with the world. Whilst our courses are created with the help of many sector professionals, in my eyes our learners and course participants are also winners”.

This commitment is echoed by Jenny Dankelman, Professor Minimally Invasive Surgery & Interventional Techniques: “Participants come from far and wide – from India to Nigeria, from Egypt to Mexico, from the USA to Europe and beyond. It is wonderful that this Award recognises how critical it is to provide access to new approaches and medical technology solutions to an ever-greater number of professionals. Because we understand the unique challenges and the role local circumstances play in different regions, we can tailor our courses to those particular requirements – in this way our MedTech portfolio gives us the added opportunity of fulfilling critical training needs in rural areas and further afield.”

Willem van Valkenburg, Extension School Executive Director adds: “It is an honour to receive this renowned award in recognition of the wonderful work of our lecturers and our Extension School supporting teams. Together we can have a positive impact on lives around the world of which the Medical Technology portfolio is a great example”.
