Digital Assessment: finding the right fit

At TU Delft we are using an array of Digital Assessment tools. As contract end dates are drawing closer, there is a need to look more closely at the best way forward with digital assessment at the TU. On the one hand, purchasing rules must be applied correctly to comply with regulations and laws, and on the other hand, this is also a good time to see what is really needed and whether what has evolved over time is still the best fit. For this reason Digital Excellence for Education (DEE) has initiated the Digital Assessment Project at the start of 2021.

Please see the previous Educator editions of November and December for more information on how the project is set up and which progress has been made already.

The last article explained how the tender is now set up. In January all requirements and award criteria will be checked and finalized with all faculties. In February the tender is planned to be published and the registration for suppliers will be opened. It will be made interactive and stakeholders in this process will be involved as much as possible. This means that not only written input of suppliers will be reviewed but also interviews with suppliers will be held to get the best understanding of the platforms. Also usability by test panels, made up of students and teachers, will be assessed.

Next to this communication about the process will be continued and there will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions. There will be regular updates in the faculties. The Heads of ESA have been given a presentation and the Programme Directors and the chairs of the exam committees have been informed.

You will be kept informed via the Educator. If you have questions about the project and/or how it is handled at your faculty, please contact the Project Manager: Inez de Fluiter, who can be reached via i.de.fluiter@tudelft.nl. Your input is valuable and feedback is welcome!
