Outdoor sports associations are welcome on the fields!

News - 04 June 2020 - Communication

The doors of X are opening carefully. Since last Tuesday, 2 June, you have been able to play tennis again, if you reserve a court in advance. We are happy to see that there is a lot of fun and safe play on the courts. That means that, after a successful first week, we will be able to start the training sessions of the outdoor sports associations as of Monday 8 June.

Soccer players, hockey players, survivors, rugby players, tennis players, korfball players and Lacrosse players: you can get out your sports bag and hit the field for training sessions. Of course, the training sessions will need to take place in an adapted form, so that they comply with the safety measures. In addition, make sure you come to X well prepared: read our conditions and check with your association if any additional measures apply.

Would you like to have a drink with each other afterwards? Unfortunately, that is not yet possible. But hopefully, after a positive evaluation of the first phases of opening, we will be able to continue the phased upscaling, including ticket hours, individual use and catering. So keep a close eye on the website for updates.

Manageability
With the phased opening, the number of visitors at X will also increase step by step. In order to be able to receive all visitors as dispersed as possible, we have extended opening hours as of 8 June:

  • Monday to Friday from 11:00 to 23:00;
  • on weekends from 11:00 to 22:00.

Please note: it is not yet the intention that you come to X on your own initiative. X is only open to members of the associations participating in the association trainings and tennis players who have reserved a tennis court in advance. Unfortunately, it is not yet possible to stand along the field as a spectator.

Tennis
As a tennis player you also have the opportunity to reserve a tennis court from 8 June later in the evening (until 23:00) and in the weekends (until 22:00). In addition, there was a great demand for doubles. From now on, 4 June, we can allow double play again, provided you play with a duo that has reserved another court in the same time slot. With this we guarantee the maximum controllable capacity.

We must always take into account that the situation in the Netherlands and/or on campus can change quickly and that the flexibilities can be adjusted or reversed if necessary. It may also be decided to use part of X for educational activities, which may affect our capacity for other offer.

We wish all members of the outdoor sports associations a lot of fun!
