Development Centre for Maintenance of Composites

The Development Center for the Maintenance and repair of Composites (DCMC) is a joint initiative of both industry (Fokker (GKN Aerospace) and SPECTO Aerospace) and knowledge partners (NLR and TU Delft). It carries out both industrial and fundamental research. The main purpose of this cooperation is to develop a leading centre for composites inspection, maintenance and repair in Europe.

The major contribution to this project  from TU Delft is fundamental research on:

  • Monitoring and detecting the relevant mechanisms for failures in large maritime (infrastructural) composite constructions;
  • Determining the influence of production variables on the durability of printed Titanium patch repairs.

The generated knowledge can be used as a cross-over for other industries.
