J. Zhao (Jingjing)

Biography

I was born and raised in Tianjin, a coastal city in the north of China. In September 2011, I entered Tianjin University (TJU) to follow a BSc degree in Biochemical Engineering in the Faculty of Chemical Engineering. In September 2015, I was accepted to follow an MSc program at the Department of Biochemical Engineering and joined the Lab of Biomimetic and Bioinspired Membranes & Membrane Process in Tianjin University to obtain my master degree. My MSc thesis work mainly focused on synthesizing and characterizing graphene oxide (GO) composites (including GO-based nanosheets and three-dimensional (3D) porous graphene hydrogels) as carrier for biocatalysts. This work led to 4 publications. In July 2018, I joined the Institute of Environmental Protection Science in Tianjin as an environmental engineer.

Current Project

In June 2020 I started my PhD project at NovAM to work on natural nanoporous microparticles for corrosion control under the supervision of Dr. S.J. García Espallargas.
