European Wind Energy Master

Double Degree Joint Education Master Programme

European Wind Energy Master

Double Degree Joint Education Master Programme

  • Receive two MSc degrees from world leading universities
  • Obtain fundamental knowledge and learn to apply it to the Wind Energy sector
  • Study in an international, multi-cultural environment
  • Live in (at least) two different European countries
  • Become part of the EWEM community

Even with our best efforts to promote energy efficiency, the global demand for energy to power our way of life continues to increase. Clearly, we must develop new sources of energy.

Wind energy offers considerable promise: the wind itself is free, clean, and it is inexhaustible. In recent years, research on wind energy has accelerated, and new developments in efficient and cost- effective ways of harnessing wind energy are making it increasingly attractive and competitive.

The wind energy sector is looking for well-trained and enthusiastic professionals. The European Wind Energy Master trains you to become a resourceful problem solver who is capable of collaborating with colleagues across cultural divides to shape the future of the wind energy sector.  You’ll get the best education in wind energy science and engineering, studying in our four world leading universities in (offshore) wind energy research and education.

The European Wind Energy Master is an advanced 2 year (120 ECTS) double degree Master of Science with four tracks:

Besides that, your study experience abroad will be enriched through special events, connecting with our industry partners and other activities organized by our study association ASE ‘Aeolus’.

Testimonials

EWEM track: Wind Physics (currently Wind Farms and Atmospheric Physics)

“EWEM has given me far more than just an education. It has given me the country where I want to build a future, and the woman who I want to do this with. When I started EWEM I did not realize how big my decision was, but exploring new countries and new cultures has proven to be a life-changing experience for me. I learned far more than just the basics of wind energy and companies recognized this. If you want to play with the big boys in the wind industry, international experience is a must, and knowledge of different cultures is essential.
Specializing in wind physics has provided me with the knowledge that I now use on a daily basis, at ROMO Wind in Aarhus, Denmark, where we build state-of-the art wind speed sensors. I am a key person in monitoring these sensors and in analyzing the data they bring home. I can recommend EWEM to anyone who is not afraid to move out of their comfort-zone, to anyone who wants to explore the world and of course also to those who are simply looking for excellent education.”

Nick Gerardus Cornelis Janssen, Data Analyst, Romo Wind A/S, Aarhus, Denmark

EWEM track: Rotor Design

As a post graduate of the EWEM programme, I have to say that it has never been a day that I have regretted when I first submitted my application already 3 years ago. EWEM fulfilled completely my growing interest in wind energy while offered me the chance of discovering plenty of opportunities that would not have been noticed by me if I had never moved out of my comfort zone.
One of the most important elements by being a dual student at two different universities (DTU and TU Delft) in two different countries (Denmark and the Netherlands), was the perspective they gave me in problem solving, research and personal development compared to the ones I had already prior to the EWEM programme. A potential personal asset that you can keep in your pocket for future challenges. Currently, I am an aerodynamic & aeroacoustics design engineer at Siemens Wind Power A/S (DK), working in R&D projects related to outer shape blade design, aeroacoustics modeling applied to wind turbines and rotor performance validation which also involve some wind tunnel testing. A multidisciplinary and challenging work field where I work with specialists from all over the world. I strongly encourage to anybody interested in this technological field to go for the EWEM programme, an excellent development, professionally and personally speaking.”
Oriol Ferret Gasch, Aerodynamics and Aeroacoustics Design Engineer, Siemens Wind Power AS
