Programme

The Architecture track programme is structured with a disciplinary first year focusing on core subjects and studios followed by electives outside this master track or even outside the faculty and a graduation studio in the second year. Students choose to specialise in one of many graduation studios, giving students a wide choice of options within the programme.

From September 2025 the fifth quarter (Q5) allows you to choose electives offered by or in collaboration with other TU Delft faculties, or with public or private partners. This new Q5 offers students the opportunity to gain knowledge and experience from collaborating in projects with other disciplines or challenges found outside the walls of our own faculty. More information on the electives offered in Q5 is available as from April 2025.

Graduation
The final three quarters of the second year (Q6, Q7, Q8) are reserved for the Graduation Studio and form a coherent whole (40 EC). In Q6, parallel to the Graduation Studio, a methodology course is offered, in which the theoretical foundation of the individual graduation project is developed (5 EC).

Within the Department of Architecture several groups offer both MSc 1 Design Studios and Graduation Studios. These studios have developed their own design approach and way of working over the years. Depending on your preference you can choose to take your MSc 1 Design Studio and Graduation Studio within the same group, but this is not mandatory.
