Exemption for an individual course

The Board of Examiners can grant an exemption from an individual course.
Please note that course exemptions do not count for your weighted average. This implicates that exemptions are not considered for determining ‘cum laude’. For further information about this, please see to the Rules and Guidelines of the Board of Examiners.

The Board of Examiners only grants exemption if all following requirements are met:

  1. You are/were registered for the study programme in which the course you would like to drop is offered; and
  2. You have passed an exam in the past with similar content, study load and level; and
  3. The course for which exemption is being requested is completed before you submit the application for exemption.
  4. You will need your lecturer's recommendation (to be filled in on the request form).

Submitting your request
If you meet the abovementioned requirements (you can also use the request checker on the right), you can probably get an exemption for an individual course. You can submit your request for an exemption by filling in the exemption form.

Please note that incomplete forms or requests without the required documents will not be processed.
