English for the TU 2

English for the TU 2 is a 7 week follow-up course for employees/staff who have already taken English for the TU 1. The course is taught at a slightly higher level and uses Cambridge Recycling Your English as a course book. You will need to do about two hours of homework every week to practice your English.

In the course we will look at some common grammatical mistakes (and correct them).  We will also do some short writing assignments, practice listening to some native speakers (short videos), and each of you will give a short presentation. The main focus of the course will be to help you improve your vocabulary. To do this, we will give you some tricks (like using word families: employ, employment, employer, etc.); the exercises in the book will help you broaden your language by learning more phrasal verbs (think of take back what you said, put in for a raise, go over the main points).

This will help you become more comfortable, confident and fluent in your use of English.

This course is designed as a follow up to  English for the TU 1, but if you already use English regularly, or studied in English in the past, you may start with this course.  Please check with us first, if you wonder which course is most appropriate.

For further information contact the languages secretary (015-278 3646EnglishUnit@tudelft.nl) ) or Sören Johnson (015-2782793; s.f.johnson@tudelft.nl).
