About me

I completed my B.Sc. in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, spending my senior year at the University of California San Diego. Throughout my undergraduate studies, I conducted research for Werfen OEM, and I was part of the groups led by Prof. Maurizio Prato at CIC biomaGUNE, Prof. Joseph Wang at UCSD, and Prof. Darren Lipomi at UCSD. In the summer of 2022, I was a scholar at the Vienna Biocenter Summer School, where I engaged in research within Dr. Thomas Juffmann's group at Max Perutz Lab. For my postgraduate studies, I pursued a M.Sc. in Nanomaterials at The University of Manchester as a fully funded "la Caixa" Postgraduate Fellow Abroad and conducted research under Dr. Mark Bissett’s supervision.

At TU Delft

Under the guidance of Dr. Alina Rwei and Dr. Tiago Costa, I am thrilled to participate in the Integrative Neuromedicine Flagship program. This collaborative initiative between Erasmus University Rotterdam, Erasmus Medical Center Rotterdam, and TU Delft aims to establish the first-of-its-kind cohesive and synergistic approach for the investigation and treatment of neurodegenerative diseases. Specifically, we intend to develop ultrasound-triggerable drug delivery systems to pharmaceutically target the mTOR pathway via small molecule, protein and/or nucleic acid drugs. Ultrasound-generating, miniaturized devices will be developed for controlled spatiotemporal drug release profiles. Drug molecules species, timing, and dosage for therapeutic intervention will be optimized to effectively deliver drugs to the brain while mitigating neurotoxicity.
