Most nuclear application require transport of physical phenomena to work. Fluids and gases are required to safely cool a nuclear reactor. Diffusion processes and micro-fluidics can be used to efficiently obtain medical isotopes for treatment and diagnosis.

The conditions are often far from standard, i.e. high pressures, high temperatures, extraordinary materials and interaction with radioactive processes.

The Transport Phenomena & Nuclear Applications lab aims for a deep understanding of these phenomena in nuclear applications such as sustainable and safe nuclear power and innovative production techniques of medical isotopes.
