The ICUD2020 (International Conference Urban Drainage) should have taken place last year in Melbourne, but due to COVID-19 it is postponed to 2021. In order to keep up the spirit the JCUD (Joint Committee on Urban Drainage) organized three webinars last December. In these webinars 13 selected young researchers from different institutions were asked to present their research. Among them were Bram Stegeman and Job van der Werf from our department, presenting work from their PhD research. The webinars were a great success, a lot of people joined to see the presentations about a variety of topics; leakage detection, real-time control, models and so on. Afterwards everyone  was invited to ask questions, this resulted in lively discussions. Finally, each presentation was assessed by a JCUD panel. After counting the votes Bram Stegeman was determined to be the winner. He is awarded with a free entry to the next ICUD in Melbourne. Job van der Werf also convinced the panel with his performance and was rewarded with a top 3 position. Additionally Bram and Job are invited to submit their work to a special issue in Water Science & Technology. All achievements to be proud of!
