Profile

I was born and grew up in Utrecht, in the Netherlands. I finished the Bachelor’s studies Earth Sciences at the Utrecht University cum laude. Afterwards, I followed the joint Master’s program Applied Geophysics at the TU Delft, ETH Zürich and RWTH Aachen. Currently, I am working as PhD student focussing on near-surface seismics with a focus on surface-wave inversion.

Research

My PhD focusses on finding improved methods to characterise the near surface with seismic methods. The aim is to find a technique that is less computationally expensive than full 3D modelling, but more accurate than local 1D methods.

I also expand slightly on my Master’s thesis work on passive seismic imaging with seismic interferometry at the CO2 reinjection site at Hellisheidi, Iceland.
