First BVLOS Flight in the Netherlands

Researchers from the MAVLab tested the first unmanned aerial vehicle ‘beyond visual line of site’ (or BVLOS) this month, flying the delftAcopter from the Dutch mainland to the island Schiermonnikoog. The flight was one of a series of tests to see if such vehicles could be used to deliver medical or other supplies during emergencies.

On Sunday 11 March the series ‘extraterrestrial kids lectures’ at the Science Centre Delft started with a lecture by Jasper Bouwmeester ‘How to build a satellite.’ About 80 children from 8 to 12 years old will follow a total of four lectures about space, organised by the Science Centre as part of their MuseumJeugdUniversiteit programme.
